Police officers hurt after car rammed in County Down

Their vehicle was hit by a suspected stolen car in Newtownards.

Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers were on their way to a domestic incident in Donaghadee at around 11pm on Friday, when a car on the Movilla Road failed to stop.

It then struck the police vehicle a number of times before driving off.

It was later found in the Drumhirk Avenue area of the town.

A 26 year old female and a 27 year old male, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences but later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Both remain in police custody.
