Police arrest 24-year old man on suspicion of east Belfast burglary

Police are treating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life

A 24-year old man has been arrested in east Belfast on suspicion of burglary.

It is after police received a call at 0620 on Friday, February 3rd, that someone was attempting to break into their home in the Beersbridge Road area.

A PSNI spokesperson continued: “Local officers were deployed and on the scene within minutes, arresting the man on suspicion of burglary.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of this morning in the Beersbridge road area to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 214 of 3/02/2023.”

On Saturday morning, police confirmed the man had been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
