Omniplex to host 'Gentleminions' screening in response to viral TikTok trend
It's time to suit up 👔

The Gentleminions craze - a trend from TikTok that sees young people put on suits and sit for screenings of the new Illumination and Universal movie - has been in headlines for ushering teens into Minions screenings.
You may have spotted the trend on social media or even crossed paths with a tie-clad moviegoer while seeing the family flick in person.
The Gentleminions trend involves donning a nice suit, gathering with some friends willing to do the same and striding confidently into a Rise of Gru screening.
Ireland’s largest cinema chain, Omniplex Cinemas has embraced this trend on their social media channels and have created special 'Gentleminion' screenings for those who want to look the part when seeing their favourite yellow creatures.
In a public social media post, the cinema franchise wrote: " Looking to show Gru the respect he deserves? Thinking of suiting up for the occasion? Well look no further, Gentleminions Screenings open in select Omniplex Cinemas over the next few days. Check your local Omniplex for details. Formal attire is mandatory.”
Their website reads: "Suit up, Gentleminions! You are invited to a special screening of Minions: The Rise of Gru at select Omniplex Cinemas. Enjoy the untold story of one twelve-year-old's dream to become the world's greatest supervillain in true Gentleminions style.”
People are advised to be aware that the Gentleminion screenings can expect 'crowd participation', so those wanting to watch the movie in peace should attend a regular showing.
Omniplex Cinemas have created a safe space for those who want to experience the new Minions movie in all its glory, suited up and excited to see the main man Gru.
Screenings are taking place in Omniplex locations around Ireland from Friday 8th to Thursday 14th July.
