New Belfast route to popular Spanish destination taking off this Summer
A new route is set to take off from Northern Ireland to popular Spanish destination, Barcelona.
Vueling Airlines has announced its plans to be the latest airline partner at George Best Belfast City Airport with a twice-weekly service.
It's due to start on 2nd July 2021, adding to the UK routes with Aer Lingus, a regular schedule to London Heathrow Airport with British Airways and flights to London City Airport with BA CityFlyer.
Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, commented:
“Vueling’s plans to launch a direct route to Barcelona from Belfast City Airport will be welcome news for many, giving passengers more choice for the summer.
“The convenient flight times and twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays make it an ideal choice for a relaxing weekend break, sunshine getaway, or trip to the beach with the family.
“We are looking forward to seeing Vueling’s passengers and staff at the airport this summer.”
To celebrate the announcement of its route to Barcelona, Vueling is running a seat sale promotion from Thursday 29th April to Monday 3rd May, with seats from only £19.99 each way.
Belfast City Airport also has a number of enhanced health and safety measures in place to help keep its staff and passengers safe, and was the first airport in Northern Ireland to be awarded the ACI’s Airport Health Accreditation. For more information, visit the dedicated Covid-19 webpage.
