Cash for Kids launch annual ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign to ensure no child in Northern Ireland wakes up without presents.

The organisers behind Cool FM and Downtown Radio’s Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ appeal are more determined than ever that no child wakes up without a present this Christmas.

With families feeling the pinch more than ever in light of the cost-of-living crisis, the Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ appeal has been inundated with pleas for support from local Charites, social workers teachers and other front-line services to support the families they work with across Northern Ireland

Last year the generosity of Northern Ireland’s general public and local businesses meant that over 11,000 children were able to wake up to a present which they otherwise wouldn’t have had. The team at Cash for Kids hope this year’s campaign, will be no different as they call on people to ‘give a little’ again this Christmas.

With the countdown to Christmas firmly underway, Cash for Kids launched their annual ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign today (14 Nov) – supported by both the Cool FM and Downtown Radio Breakfast Teams and long-standing campaign sponsor, local retailer Harry Corry.

Cash for Kids Charity Manager, Lauren Baxter, explains; “Families across Northern Ireland are facing new hardships this year with high inflation and spiralling living costs, meaning often presents are a luxury they simply can’t afford. This makes our campaign more important than ever.

“Every single donation makes a difference, and we are urging people to dig deep and donate what they can. We try to ensure our gifts cater for all age groups, but usually need more support for gifts for teenagers and babies. We also really appreciate cash donations to help with those tricky to buy for groups.”

Gifts can be dropped off at any Harry Corry store across NI. A full list of all drop-off points are listed on the Cash for Kids website. The last day to drop your gift off is Monday 19th December but we urge you to donate as early as you can.

Applauding the NI public for their continued support, Mark Corry, Marketing Manager of Harry Corry, added:

“Thank you to those who have continued to support our campaign. We are delighted to once again partner with the team at Cash for Kids, to help make a difference for families across Northern Ireland.

“We know that cash might be tight for many families this year, but even a small donation can make a big difference to a child’s Christmas.”
