Mash Direct Belfast City Marathon 2023: Traffic Update

The Mash Direct Belfast City Marathon takes place on Sunday 30th April from the iconic Stormont Estate with thousands of participants expected to take part across the Marathon Run and Wheelchair Race, Team Relay and 8 Mile Walk.

Runners will set off from Prince of Wales Avenue on the Stormont Estate at 9am this Sunday - 26.2miles later, the finishing line is in Ormeau Park.

The marathon route encompasses North, East, South and West of the city.

Free parking will be available at the start line within the Stormont Complex on Sunday. Organisers have asked if you do intend to park around the Stormont area to enter via Stoney Road – follow signage and the directions of the stewards.

There will road/traffic disruption across the city throughout the morning and early afternoon.

Motorists are asked to follow diversion signs and take direction from stewards on the route.

Roads will start to close wholly or partially from around 6am until 4.30pm approximately.

Once all runners have passed points on the route, reopening of the roads will be managed as quickly as possible.

Translink has confirmed a new timetable for Sunday 30th April, which includes extra train services to help transport participants to Belfast for Marathon Sunday.
