Man 'stabbed' and 'bitten' in Belfast attack

Police are appealing for witnesses

Police are investigating reports that a man was stabbed, and had part of one of his fingers bitten off, in an attack South Belfast.

It's reported he was involved in altercation which spilled onto the street on Bradbury Place at around 8 o clock last night.

A statement from the PSNI said “Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of a stabbing incident in Bradbury Place last evening, Friday, 24 January.”

“It was reported that the injured man was involved in an altercation with another man and a female in premises in Bradbury Place.”

“This then spilled out into the street where it is believed the injured male sustained stab wounds.”

“The top of one of his fingers is also believed to have been bitten off in this incident.”

“He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.”

Sergeant Julian Jackson said, "I would appeal to anyone who was in the Bradbury Place area of Belfast last night between 7.50pm and 8.10pm and witnessed this incident or anyone who has information that could assist with our enquiries, to contact us at Lisburn Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1783 24/01/20.”

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
