Man held at knife point in south Belfast

A man has been held at knife point during an aggravated burglary at a house in the Stranmillis Park area of south Belfast.

Two men forced their way into the premises around 10.40pm on Wednesday night, one was armed with a large kitchen knife.

Four men, who where inside the house during the incident, had their phones and wallets stolen.

The man who was being held at knife point was then taken to a nearby cash point and ordered to withdraw a sum of money.

The two men then fled the scene.

Detective Sergeant Moffett said:

“One of the men is described as being 6”2 in height, brown hair and stubbly brown beard. He was wearing a grey jumper and grey hat. The second man was described as 5”8 in height and wearing a blue coloured hooded top.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1332 21/11/18.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
