A suspect is due in court later charged in connection with a hostage situation at a Belfast city centre hotel.
It happened after a man entered The Clayton on Ormeau Avenue on Sunday with what was believed, at the time, to be a gun.
Police arrived within minutes and the hostage was freed soon after.
A PSNI statement said, “Detectives investigating reports that a man with a gun entered a hotel in the Ormeau Avenue area of Belfast on Sunday 7th May have charged a man to court.”
“The man, aged 31, has been charged with carrying an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, common assault, criminal damage, and false imprisonment.”
“He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday 9th May.”
“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
