Man on attempted murder charge after assault in Doagh

Five others arrested as part of investigation

A 27-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon after a serious assault in Doagh.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court later,

Five other men, arrested as part of the investigation, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Another man, aged 34, was arrested last night as part of the investigation and remains in police custody.

Meanwhile, police continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault or the group of males in the area of the bar or anyone with any information which could assist police to contact detectives in Antrim on 101 quoting reference number 982 15/03/17.
