Man attacked and robbed in south Belfast

A man in his 20s had his wallet and phone stolen after he was attacked in south Belfast in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was reported at around 2.10am that two men had approached the victim and assaulted him, before going through his pockets and stealing the items.

They ran off in the direction of Blondin Street and it is believed that they made their way onto Sandy Row and Hope Street.

The victim was left with head and upper body injuries as a result of the assault.

Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them on 101.
