Man charged with attempted murder after woman stabbed in north Belfast

Detectives in Belfast have charged a man with attempted murder following a stabbing in north Belfast yesterday, (Friday 23rd August).

The man, aged 25, has also been charged with aggravated burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday, 26th August.

The stabbing happened just after half past ten on Friday morning in the Ballynure Street area.

A woman in her 20s has been treated in hospital.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "An investigation is underway and detectives from Public Protection Branch are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information which might assist, to get in touch.

"The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 359 23/08/24."
