Lurgan: Service station workers left “shaken” following armed robbery

Service station workers in Lurgan have been left “shaken” following reports of an armed robbery yesterday (Thursday).

Police said they recieved a report that a man entered the premise on the Antrim Road with a hammer and threatened staff before making off with a sum of money.

A 28-years- old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody, assisting with enquiries.

Detective Inspector Celeste Simpson said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for staff who although not physically injured, have been left shaken by this despicable act.

"If you were in the area and witnessed this incident, or captured it on your dash cam, call us on 101, quoting reference number 1789 15/07/21."
