HIGHLIGHTS: Giants Set Up Semi Final Decider With Devils In Belfast

The Stena Line Belfast Giants have it all to play for in the Challenge Cup semi final part 2 on Feb 23rd in Belfast as they went down 5-3 to Cardiff in leg 1 on Sunday.

It was first blood to the Devils as the returning Trevor Hendrikx opened the scoring 8 minutes into the opening third before Belfast man of the match James Desmarais finished for the Giants to bring the match level with assists going to Mike Radja & new Giant David Rutherford following his move from Edinburgh Capitals.

Penalities have been the Giants achlees heel this season giving up numerous goals in the previous visit to the Cardiff Arena last time out in the league. Belfast had much more success this time, successfully killing a 2 minute tripping minor and the first 28 seconds of a cross checking call on player coach Derrick Walser to end period 1 all square at 1-1.

Both teams can take positives from the game, and it's all to play for in an exciting 2nd leg at SSE Arena, Belfast on Feb 23rd with that spot in the Challenge Cup Final on March 6th in Sheffield the prize. Tickets for the big game are available here
