Ballynahinch: graffiti sprayed on church and vehicles damaged

An investigation is under way with several incidents in different areas of the Co Down town

Graffiti has been sprayed on a church and a number of vehicles damaged in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday) in Ballynahinch.

Police said there were incidents in several areas of the Co Down town between 3 and 4 o'clock.

Appealing for witnesses a PSNI spokesperson said: "Graffiti was sprayed on a number of commercial premises in the High Street, Lisburn Street, and Main Street areas of the town.

“Graffiti was also sprayed on a church in the Main Street area, and a number of vehicles in the Belfast Road area were spray painted."

Police have launched an investigation are said they were appealing to "anyone who saw any suspicious activity in these areas, or who has any information or CCTV footage which might assist our investigation, to get in touch. "
