FE Colleges urging students to consider their options after exam results
Pupils across Northern Ireland received A Level and GCSE results in the past week
Further Education Colleges are urging students not to worry if they haven't got the results they wanted after GCSE grades came out yesterday.
Over 61,000 pupils found out their grades, including A Levels and GCSEs in the past week.
Many are now making big life choices which will decide their future work-life or study.
Harry Robinson is the Head of School at Belfast Metropolitan College:
"We understand that when you've got your results there can be a little bit of panic, a little bit of fear with young people and parents trying to decide what's next.
"I think the important thing to do is to look at all of the options that are available to you."
Pupils in Northern Ireland outperformed their counterparts in England and Wales in GCSEs.
They got the highest percentage of top grades and the highest pass rate.
But for those who did not get the results they wanted, Harry says there are many course to consider.
He had this advice for pupils:
"Not panicking is absolutely the key, explore all of your options, get good careers advice and try and find the best pathway for you.
"It might not be necessarily what you thought initially you were going to do but there are always options and sometimes it's necessary to take a sideways step before you get to where you want to."
