The NI Executive confirm this afternoon that they agreed an indicative date of June 21 for the return of live music.

Current regulations prohibit live music from bars and restaurants, with organisers completing risk assessments to determine capacity for venues like funerals and weddings.

It will be important to monitor the progression of this, and other variants, very closely and examine the emerging data on the impacts of previous relaxations on the course of the epidemic.

From June 21 (subject to review on June 17th):

Home and community

Indoor gatherings will be permitted in a domestic setting of 10 people from no more than two households. Outdoor gatherings in a domestic setting of 15 people will be allowed with an unlimited number of households.

Outdoor gatherings

Outdoor gatherings will be allowed as per risk assessment for venue across all sectors. Over 30 people must be an organised gathering and would require a risk assessment.

Live music

Live music will be allowed at background or ambient levels in licensed and unlicensed premises. Outdoor events permit live music and dancing, without restriction to background or ambient level. Social distancing at a minimum of one metre will be required for live music. Entry to performances for audiences will be via ticket only.

Education and young people

A restart of overnight residential for youth services as part of the continued phased reopening of youth services to facilitate delivery of the summer youth programme as part of the continued phased reopening of youth services.
