Eleven cars have been badly damaged in a fire at a workshop in Newtownards.

Police think the blaze may have been started deliberately.

Emergency services were called to the incident in the Glenburn Road area shortly before 10 last night.

A PSNI statement said, “Police are investigating following a fire at vehicle workshop in Newtownards at around 9.45pm last night, Wednesday 1 March.”

“It's thought the blaze, which significantly damaged 11 vehicles, may have been started deliberately.”

“Officers would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information. They can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference 2025 01/03/23.”
