Edwin Poots is starting his first week as the new leader of the DUP.

However, as it is a bank holiday today (Monday) - an announcement on his new ministerial team is not expected until tomorrow.

The party currently has the economy, education, agri and first minster posts.

Former leader Arlene Foster says she will quit straight away if the announcement happens tomorrow instead of stepping down at the end of June as planned.

DUP MLAs Mervyn Storey and Paul Givan are understood to be under consideration.

Mr Poots says he will not be rushed into anything.

"We will look at all of these issues and take a decision at a time that is appropriate for us," he added

However, the Executive will not be able to function if Sinn Fein do not nominate a deputy First Minister to work with the new First Minister.
