DRUGS: Cannabis factory found in Co Fermanagh

Police have uncovered another drugs factory in Northern Ireland.

After the discovery in Tyrone of a cocaine haul believed to be worth £500,000, PSNI officers have now seized a cannabis factory following a security operation in Co Fermanagh yesterday (Monday) evening..

Police said they conducted a search of a property in the Newtownbutler area and seized 42 adult plants and equipment used to cultivate cannabis.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis and possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply. He is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

Inspector Darryl Johnston said: “This was a significant discovery by officers working to keep the community safe. Our investigation is ongoing and anyone who has information that could assist us should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1744 of 10/05/21.
