Downtown Radio is celebrating its 40th birthday today.
Just last April, it became the first station here to launch a spin-off service in the digital era.
Downtown County has been a huge success.
Indeed, its launch figures (almost 90,000 listeners) have been the biggest opening listening figures for a brand new NI station since current records began.
In 1990, Downtown created Cool FM to serve its younger audience in Greater Belfast and since then the sibling has grown into the market leader.
This strategy of expanding programming profaning to offer listeners in Northern Ireland more choice is continuing to pay off - 612,000 people tune in to these stations each week to remain the country's largest radio broadcaster - as Downtown was as a single station all those years ago.
We are all proud to be playing our small part in Northern Ireland radio history.
