DCI Caldwell: Man arrested in connection with attempted murder of detective

A man has been arrested over the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell in Co Tyrone last year.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said they arrested a 44-year-old man under the Terrorism Act in the Dungannon area on Thursday.

A PSNI spokesperson said the man has been taken to Musgrave serious crime suite in Belfast for questioning.

"A property was also searched and a number of items have been taken away for further examination," they added.
