One of Northern Ireland's much loved summer attractions, Curry’s Fun Park, formerly Barry's Amusements in Portrush, is set to reopen this year with a special new addition.

Generations have flocked to the North Coast each summer, for sun, sand and the site's amusement arcades.

Locals spotted construction taking place over the weekend at their iconic venue along West Strand.

It looks like the family-favourite ‘Big Dipper’ ride has been dismantled and a log flume has replaced it.

Northern Ireland’s only inverting rollercoaster, it’s not known whether the 'Big Dipper' is being scrapped or relocated.

The log-flume is currently called ‘Aqua Valley’ but it could be changed before Curry’s reopens later this year.

When will Curry’s reopen in 2023?

Curry’s Fun Park posted a short teaser on social media, with the caption “The Countdown to Fun has begun…Keep an eye right here for Big News coming very soon”
