How does NISRA’s Coronavirus figures differ from the Department of Health’s?
NISRA’s data provides a broader picture of the impact of Covid-19 than the death toll reported by Stormont's Department of Health.
Its statistics focus primarily on hospital deaths and only include people who have tested positive for the virus.
NISRA obtains its data from death certificates on which Covid-19 is recorded as a factor by a medical professional, regardless of where the death took place or whether the patient tested positive.
What are the Department of Health current Covid-19 figures?
Its total number of deaths now stands at 2,332 which is 802 less than NISRA’s.
Four new deaths were recorded yesterday (Thursday) by DOH.
A further 1,550 people tested positive from 5,023 individual tests.
While, 376 hospital inpatients currently have Covid, 41 of which are currently in ICU.
