Police are appealing for witnesses after money was stolen and damage caused to the door of a house in Derry.

Entry was forced to the property in Aberfoyle Crescent South, sometime after two on Friday afternoon.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen three men, one in a grey hoodie, in the area.

Detective Constable Richard Donnell said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the Aberfoyle Crescent South area yesterday between 2pm and 2:50pm and noticed any suspicious activity, or anyone who saw three males leaving the area to contact Detectives at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 668 of 23/03/18," he said.

He added: "I am also appealing to members of the public to call us if they come into contact with anyone who wants to pass on a large number of coins in unusual circumstances.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
