Belfast: Man charged following serious sexual assault of 19 year old woman on St Patrick's Day

Detectives investigating the serious sexual assault of a 19 year old woman in South Belfast on St Patrick's Day, have charged a 35 year old man with offences including rape, sexual assault, and theft.

Police say it was reported that at around 6pm the woman was walking in the Malone Avenue area when she was forced into a house and attacked by an unknown man.

The suspect is due in court in Belfast today.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
