Belfast International Airport's bar and kitchen forced to close

Belfast International Airport issued a statement this afternoon with the news that the Sip & Stone has closed due to staffing problems.

Staff shortages within the team have forced the popular bar and kitchen to remain closed until August 10th.

The statement read: "The current ‘pingdemic’ has created a number staff shortages and we have made the difficult decision to close the kitchen area of Sip and Stone until 10th August.

"Passengers can still purchase cold drinks and snacks, in addition Starbucks remains open for hot drinks and food. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you and look forward to welcoming you back soon."

Today's Covid-19 stats reveal that in the last seven days there have been over 8000 new positive cases across Northern Ireland.

224 people are currently in hospital seeking treatment, with 37 in ICU.
