A man has been released on bail pending further enquiries after a viral video seemed to show a food waste bin being thrown at a band parade in South Belfast.

Police were at the scene as members of the band went to the door of the house and appeared to put a wheelie bin through the window of a property on Agincourt Avenue, which it has since emerged was that of a neighbour.

Another viral video later showed the wheelie bin being taken away in the back of a PSNI landrover.

A statement on behalf of Bangor Protestant Boys was issued last night (Tuesday) by Jamie Bryson.

Mr Bryson said the retaliation came after some members "initially feared it the bin was an explosive device" and said that the band will pay for the broken window.
