5 police officers injured after driver hits police cars
5 PSNI officers have been injured after a stolen car rammed a checkpoint in County Down last night.
The car was taken from a property in the Castlewellan Road area of Newcastle shortly after 8 thirty.
The Police set up a checkpoint on the Moygannon Road in Warrenpoint, but the driver failed to stop and collided with two PSNI vehicles.
5 officers received minor injuries and one of the police cars was extensively damaged.
A 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including aggravated taking and driving away, dangerous driving, and possession of an offensive weapon.
