Two men lose their lives following separate road traffic accidents in Ballyclare and Glenavy

A MAN has died following a collision between a motorcycle and a car in Ballyclare.

The accident happened last Sunday.

The victim has been named as 30-year old motorcyclist Conor McGrugan from Ballyclare.

Police said the accident involved a blue Tesla Model S car and a blue Yamaha motorcycle.

Sergeant McIvor from the Collision Investigation Unit said: “Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from other emergency services.

“The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital following the collision for treatment but sadly died from his injuries in hospital.

“He has been named as 30-year-old Connor McGrugan from the Ballyclare area.

“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing. Officers would appeal to anyone with any information or who may have dash-cam footage available to contact them at the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1360 of 07/05/23.”

22-year-old Jordan Nixon from the Moira area

Meanwhile Police say a man has lost his life following a single-vehicle collision in Glenavy's Moira Road area.

The PSNI received a report of the incident just before 11 o'clock on Friday night that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a Volvo XC90 car.

The victim has been named as 22-year old Jordan Nixon from the Moira area.
