100 mph police chase ends in crash
The PSNI helicopter was involved in a high-speed chase through Country Antrim last night.
They were called to reports of cars being driven dangerously close to the Marrowbone Millennium Park on the Oldpark Road.
One car was abandoned there and set alight - damage was also caused to the gates.
A second car was then followed by the helicopter as it travelled at over 100mph from Newtownabbey towards Ballymena. It eventually crashed on the Munie Road between Glenarm and Ballymena at around 1:10am.
The occupants of the car had made off by the time police arrived on the scene.
Inspector Paul Noble said “Enquiries are ongoing at present and I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact 101 quoting reference number 1534 24/05/17. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
