Snow Patrol tease "big announcement" coming soon after memorable Ulster Hall gig
Intimate gig in Belfast goes down a storm
Last updated 21st May 2018
Snow Patrol rocked Belfast last night with a homecoming gig that will live long in the memory of fans.
Filling the Ulster Hall with his perfect vocals from the moment he walked out, Gary Lightbody and his band got the show underway with ‘Open Your Eyes’ and ‘Chocolate’ to a euphoric reaction.
It was stellar performance with the band in top form, playing all the big hits including 'Run', 'Take Back The City' and 'You're All I Have'.
Fans were treated to music from their new album "Wildness", including a first live performance of a song inspired by his father's battle with dementia, referring to both parents in the audience.
Their last big gig in Northern Ireland was Tennent's Vital in 2013. After the concert, frontman Gary Lightbody tweeted, seeming genuinely moved by the response.
If you missed the gig, there is good news as Snow Patrol are planning to announce a major Belfast arena show and "something special" to celebrate their 25th year anniversary.
Gary Lightbody took a break from performing to tease an upcoming exciting announcement.
"Thanks for all the support and all the love, it's meant a lot to us. We will announce an arena show shortly and come back with something special to mark 25 years of Snow Patrol next summer."
Could a repeat of Ward Park be on the cards?
