Gary Numan announces show in Belfast this year
Electronic music pioneer, revered songwriter and renowned musician, Gary Numan will be embarking on a special celebration marking the 45th anniversary of his landmark albums, The Pleasure Principle and Replicas with a Belfast headline show announced for 17th May 2024.
Released in 1979, The Pleasure Principle and Replicas stand as cornerstones of the electronic music genre, fusing synth-driven soundscapes with dark, introspective lyrics which has transcended generations.
These albums catapulted Numan to international stardom, establishing him as a visionary artist and influencing countless musicians who followed including the likes of Prince, Nine Inch Nails, and more.
Spanning across 13 cities including a hometown London show at Camden’s Roundhouse, the tour promises a potent blend of tracks from both albums including the era-defining “Cars”, “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?”, “Down In the Park” and “Metal.”
Numan remains a vital force in music. In 2017 he received the prestigious Inspiration Award at the Ivor Novellos plus a wealth of acclaim in support of his #2 album Intruder and his remarkable autobiography (R)EVOLUTION, further solidifying his status as a true visionary.
His live performances are recognised for their energy and raw emotion. His acoustic tour last year gave fans a unique glimpse at a different take on his vast repertoire but now 2024 sees Gary firmly back with his full show to commemorate the momentous anniversary of The Pleasure Principle and Replicas.
