VIDEO: Only in Belfast would they hand out FREE BEER to marathon runners

Just what you need halfway through a gruelling 26 mile run.

The staff at Chester Bar & Restaurant on the Antrim Road were spotted handing out free beers to competitors. The video has since gone viral.

Over 17,500 people took to the streets to take part in this year's team relay, marathon walk, wheelchair marathon and fun-run.

The race started at Belfast City Hall at 9am and finished at Ormeau Park.

The winner was Kenyan runner Bernard Rotich, who crossed the line with a final time of 2:16:02.

And in the women's section, Kilkeel's Laura Graham made it a first Northern Irish winner in 18 years, coming in with a personal best of 2:41:45.
