There's no denying it, after the madness of December, January can start to feel a bit bleak and dreary.

Filled with festive parties, Christmas markets and lots of cheer, it’s easy to think there isn’t much happening this month.

Chinese New Year Celebration 2023

The Chinese New Year Celebration returns to the Ulster Hall, Belfast on 22 January 2023 celebrating the Year of the Rabbit. Visit the iconic Ulster Hall and share in the spirit of the festivities as the city prepares to welcome another year. Enjoy a day full of fun and joy, rich in colours and culture, with over 12 global dances and music not to be missed.

Lewis Capaldi at the SSE Arena

Lewis will headline Belfast's SSE Arena for the FIRST TIME EVER on January 29th 2023 as he embarks on his next European and UK tour.


The Pointless singer has kept his loyal fans entertained with hilarious TikTok videos, even dropping some 'unleased' music on the platform.


We cannot wait to see Lewis back in Belfast following his sold-out outdoor gig last summer at Belsonic.

Belfast Giants Ice Hockey

One of the most exciting sports teams to watch here in NI, the Belfast Giants have several exciting matches coming up this month.


Join the 'Teal Army' on Wednesday 25th for a match against the Guildford Flames.
Two days later, it's time for the Viaplay Elite League with Sheffield Steelers on Friday 27th Jan.

The 1975 at the SSE Arena

In support of their new album, the band announced details of the UK & Ireland leg of their 'At Their Very Best' tour in January 2023, including a date in Belfast!


'I'm In Love With You' follows recent releases 'Happiness' and 'Part Of The Band', the band's acclaimed comeback single which Pitchfork praised as "the kind of grand, playful pop song that only this band could pull off".

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

Don't miss the opportunity to step inside an iconic Van Gogh painting. A 20,000 sq.ft space at Carlisle Memorial Church, Belfast is transformed with a spectacular 360-degree light and sound exhibit. Two-story projections of the artist's most compelling works will be on display. The mesmerising ambience of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience makes for a relaxing and tranquil afternoon.

Ulster Rugby matches

Ulster Rugby are set to host two matches at home this month, Sale Sharks visit Belfast's Kingspan Stadium for their match on Saturday 21st in the European Cup.


Six days later, it's time for their DHL Stormers clash on Friday 27th. Friday night under the lights...let's just hope it doesn't rain!
