"People here were raised reading books and really listen to the lyrics," she says of the Northern Ireland audience.

Kimmie is no stranger to our shores and no stranger to the Belfast crowd.

Now based in Austin, she is currently working on writing a book which she describes as a dual memoir with her hubby.

Having travelled to the emerald isle countless times and performed across the province, she is almost as much of a fan of Belfast as we are of her music.

In Belfast once again for the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, she has swapped rehearsals for the Downtown studio for the low down on her latest adventures.

Kimmie Rhodes plays the Clayton Hotel, Belfast, Wednesday 1 March.
