Pride season continues with plenty of celebrations taking place over the weekend to recognise, remember and celebrate the LGBT communities.

Belfast Pride is one of the biggest festivals in Northern Ireland and runs over 100 events across 10 days. This year celebrations begin from Friday 26th July until Sunday 4th August.

This weekend over 60,000 people are expected to line the streets for the centerpiece and main event in the LGBTQ calendar - the annual Pride parade.

It is always a huge celebration of Northern Ireland's diversity and draws thousands of people to the city centre to either take part of watch the march through some of its best known streets.

As well as community groups and local businesses, you might spot a few famous faces on the floats. The colourful festival includes all corners of the LGBTQ+ and wider community.

What time does the parade start?

Saturday 3rd August at 1.00pm.

Leaving from Custom House with the parade build up starting from 11.30am.

What route will the parade take this year?

The exact route for Belfast Pride Parade 2019 is still under review.

2018's parade left Custom House Square, down High Street, through city centre along North Street, Royal Avenue, Donegall Place , Chichester Street and back up Victoria Street towards the Albert Clock.

What's the weather going to be like?

You can pack away the brollies. For a change it is good news according to the latest Met Office forecast;

Temperatures are likely to be close to or just above average.

There is the small chance of a shower though. It is Northern Ireland after all.
