New ginger hair emojis have been released
Great news!
A brand new 'range' of ginger emojis have been released, meaning ginger people are now properly represented in emoji-form on both phones and social media. Whilst the updates may take a bit of time to appear for all users, they are most definitely on their way.
It was first announced back in December 2017 that ginger emojis could be introduced in 2018, then in February this year it was confirmed along with a bagel, lobster and softball emoji, in addition to many others.
Whilst various skin colours and genders for other colours of hair have been available for some time now, it has taken years of campaigning for a ginger option to be added and speaking about the new emojis, Emma Kelly, who helped raise a petition for the change, said it was great news.
Others have also taken to Twitter to celebrate the new emojis...
Some people who have been eagerly awaiting the new emojis have been asking why they can't them yet.
However, as Emojipedia have tweeted, it may take 'weeks and months' for the new emojis to show up.
Take a look at some of the new emojis which were proposed last year.
