World-renowned South African chain restaurant Nando’s prepares to add another location to its roster here in Northern Ireland, this time in Coleraine.

Operating over 1,200 outlets across 30 countries, Nando’s specialises in flame-grilled peri-peristyle chicken.

They hope to open their Coleraine restaurant at the Riverside Retail Park in May 2022.

Their unique blend of spices and herbs is beloved by so many around the world – don't even get us started on their PERi-PERi salted fries! 🥰

Nando’s is implementing a comprehensive strategy to help cut emissions. With restaurants in England Scotland and Wales already run on 100% renewable electricity and gas, with those in Ireland set to follow.

More plant-based options have also been added to the menu so customers can make lower-carbon choices.

The popular restaurant posted this afternoon that they’re currently recruiting for ‘Back of House Nandocas’ in the area.

But what is a ‘Back of House Nandoca?’

That’s what the brand call a member of our restaurant family. With full time and part time positions available, the role of a Back of House Nandoca is simple - to prepare and make the finest PERi-PERi meals to wow every guest.

Perks of the role include a free meal on every shift, discount for you and your friends, access to a great discount platform and internal development programmes to support career development.

The job site suggests the hourly rate is £9.42 (may differ for under 18s).

Check out some of our favourite spots in and around the city:

Tribal Burger

With two handy locations in the city centre and Botanic Avenue, this spot is incredibly popular with Belfast's students. And no wonder, look at the size of the meals! If you're visiting for the first time, you NEED to try their signature Tribal burger 🤯

Bunsen Burger

Bunsen's menu is simple but oh so effective, they let their burgers do the talking! The brand has been growing throughout Ireland over recent years, with restaurants in Dublin, Cork and Belfast's Cathedral Quarter. Watch as the chefs cook and prepare everything from scratch in the back kitchen.

Yo Burger

Open seven days a week, Yo Burger has stores both in Belfast and Bangor. Just imagine MAMMOTH patties smothered in cheese with a side order of even cheesier loaded fries. And if that's not your thing, they even have a first-class vegan, veggie and gluten-free menu too!

Five Guys

Now you have to have heard about Five Guys, this American franchise has been killing it in NI since early 2015. They're definitely on the pricier side of things but WOW these guys know a thing or two about burgers. Their motto is simple - "Burgers and Fries cooked to perfection." You can't go wrong with that!

Pablos

Pablos is a Mexican inspired restaurant in the Belfast centre that's a food lovers paradise. They serve the most delicious tacos and churros...but the burgers are 'el supremo'. Their central location is perfect for those afternoon shopping trips in town when all you want is a tasty burger and to rest your feet!

City Picnic

Another great spot is City Picnic, which sits just behind Zara in Belfast. They've got it all, fresh salads, tender chicken wings, sweet shakes and mouthwatering burgers. They even have a special cocktail menu too, now that can be a dangerous combination.

Burger Burger

So good, they named it twice! Now if you've been dreaming of a burger you can barely lift off the plate, you know the ones that take two hands plus a knife and fork, then this is right up your street. They've got spices, they've got slaw, they've got wings and loaded fries. You'll not need breakfast the next day after one of these!

The National

This sophisticated venue in the heart of Belfast, has partnered with COQ Burger, offering a fantastic menu filled fresh local food. This is fried chicken at it's finest! From Buffalo BBQ to chilli cheese, it's 'clucking' good.

Bootleggers

Bootleggers' menu mixes tradition with creative flair, as the kitchen experiments with interesting flavours like apple purée and crispy pork belly. Don't know it until you try it! There will be something to suit every palette at Bootleggers, that's for sure.

Wolfes Diner

If you're in need of a major feed...then Wolfe's Diner in Dundonald is perfect! Kids will love it here, the décor, menus and staff are all great, it's also right beside the cinema so you could make an afternoon/evening out of it all. They have so many fantastic flavours, toppings and sides to choose from, their Titanic is one of the best in Belfast!
