Over the weekend we got to see the contestants take part in the Six Chair Challenge, however not everyone's performances went to plan. One X Factor hopeful, Tommy Ludford, was one of those who entertained the audience with an original song, 'Dipping Biscuits', whilst he played his acoustic guitar.

However, despite his great performance, 20-year-old Tommy really made an impression when he FELL OFF the infamous stage BACKWARDS! As fans of the show will know, the stage on The X Factor is an 'X' shape, and Tommy unfortunately stepped backwards from the middle of the X where he was performing.

The judges Robbie Williams, Ayda Williams, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and Simon Cowell all jumped out of their seats as it happened, the audience were also left shocked. Luckily, host Dermot O'Leary was on hand and he was one of the first to run over to The X Factor contestant. After a few tense moments, thankfully Tommy got up and raised his hand triumphantly to a cheering crowd.

WATCH: The moment Tommy Ludford fell of The X Factor stage:

Tommy was performing as part of the Six Chair Challenge, where the contestants each get assigned to one of the four categories, with just six in each category. The judges' confirmed categories are: Robbie has the groups, Ayda has the Overs, Louis has the Boys and Simon has the Girls.
