It's safe to say that The Traitors got fans hooked when the first series aired last year, with viewers eagerly awaiting a second series of the BBC show. There's not too long to wait now luckily, with show bosses confirming that the second series is due to hit our screens on 3rd January 2024!

However, host Claudia Winkleman has revealed that there is set to be some changes to the upcoming series, with a major plot point axed. Speaking in a Q&A ahead of the series premiere, Claudia teased what we can expect to see from The Traitors series two.

When asked what's new, she replied: "I wish I could. I think I'm allowed to say the armoury has gone and now there's a kitchen. That's it!"

In the first series, contestants could visit the armoury, with one person a time winning a shield to keep them safe from the Traitors. Claudia didn't divulge what could be replacing the armoury in the second series.

However, Claudia did reveal that fans are in for a treat when the new series arrives, with plenty of 'epic' missions ahead.

She added: "The missions this year are epic. The producers are so clever as the missions are incredibly important as it is a chance for the contestants to switch off from strategizing and plotting.

"They get fresh air, they run around, they work as a team. The scale this year is beyond."

When asked if the series two contestants will have an advantage after watching last year's episodes, she explained: "It definitely gave them some tips and you can see some arrive and play the game immediately.

"But the game itself is so strong that however prepared you think you are, you're not."

Discussing the incredible success of the first series of The Traitors, Claudia added: "When it did well, we just couldn't believe it. It floored all of us and made us extremely happy."

Despite series two not hitting our screens yet, series three of The Traitors has already been confirmed, with Claudia returning as host. Applications for series three are now open.
