Last year there was much excitement when it was revealed that there would be an Inbetweeners reunion, eight years after the series originally finished. Fans couldn't wait to see Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas reunited, however when the highly anticipated episode aired on 1st January 2019, fans were left sorely disappointed.

Despite the episode previously being described as, 'a selection of clips, behind-the-scenes footage and contributions from some of the show's famous fans,' it seems that many fans were expecting a full episode with the original cast. Now, The Inbetweeners star James Buckley, has taken to Twitter to apologise to the fans saying he's feeling 'pretty hated right now'.

Despite many fans being unhappy, it seems that following his tweet, other fans have come forward in support of the actor, with many now responding to James' tweet. Supporting the actor, one fan tweeted,

'You, in The Inbetweeners - Brilliant.

You, in White Gold - Brilliant.

The producers of last night’s show... Pish.

You’re a good man, James. Head high, Sir - And Happy New Year.'

Fitness Youtuber Reev also tweeted, 'Shouldn’t ever feel like that mate, you shaped a generation. Just would have preferred if the whole thing was just raw footage of you lot looking back on it... the car journey was absolutely spot on 🙏🏻 Still a bunch of heroes (the lot of you)'.

Now take a look at the original names of some of our favourite TV shows:

Friends

We all know and love it as Friends, but the TV show could have been called something very different...
