There has been an exciting update for fans of Netflix's The Crown as bosses share the first images of Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana.

It was confirmed earlier this year that Brassic and The Wire star Dominic would be taking on the role of Prince Charles in the fifth series of The Crown, following actor Josh O'Connor, who played the Queen's eldest child from series three.

It was announced in 2020 that Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki would be playing Princess Diana from series five, taking over from Emma Corrin, who played Lady Diana Spencer in series four of the hit Royal drama.

In their first close up picture, the pair look just like the couple. 30-year-old Elizabeth is pictured portraying Princess Diana lying on a sofa in a floral skirt, with a letter on her lap.

51-year-old Dominic is also pictured in a trademark Prince Charles suit with a colourful tie, standing in what appears to be the decadent grounds of a country house.

The pair will cover the period from 1990 up to the late Nineties when Diana was tragically killed in a car crash in Paris aged just 36-years-old, which sent the Royal family into chaos.

The first-look images come just two weeks after The Crown revealed the first photos of Imelda Staunton as The Queen, playing the monarch in arguably the most difficult decade of her reign.

We can't wait to watch the forthcoming series!
