With many popular TV shows suspending filming due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, including all of the popular soaps, Line of Duty, Peaky Blinders and Loose Women, Lord Alan Sugar has now confirmed that The Apprentice has been cancelled for 2020.

When a fan on Twitter asked him the question, 'Is the Apprentice cancelled this year, Lord? Sorry if you have already answered that?', Lord Sugar responded saying, 'Yes I guess so. Could be back in Spring 2021 or skip a whole year and back in October 2021.'

The interested fan later went on to ask if this year's applicants will be given the chance when the show returns next year, adding, 'So the applicants from this year will get a chance next year or have they lost their chance if the show is cancelled this year, Lord?'

The 73-year-old businessman then responded, saying, 'The BBC has a selection of candidates ready to go from the last recruitment process in March. They will be called on once we have the green sign to start filming @bbcapprentice.'

Well due to the ever-changing circumstances of what's going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that.

'As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie... I'm gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together! So here's to our group movie date! See you soon! #AQuiet Place Part 2...Take 2. JK.'
