The end of Pat Phelan is nigh, as Coronation Street bosses have released a brand new trailer revealing his showdown with his wife Eileen.

WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS

Show boss Kate Oates revealed to the Radio Times that Eileen would be central to Phelan's downfall, and a show source told a national newspaper that they'll have a fight at the top of a cliff while on holiday.

There's never a good place for a fight, but at the top of a cliff right next to the sea? That's definitely the worst.

The official Coronation Street Twitter account posted the video this morning, writing, 'The truth is finally out about Phelan!'

In the 30-second clip, we see Phelan and Eileen looking at a cottage as Phelan declares it his "dream holiday," before Gary Windass and Adam Barlow are asking police to "confirm they found the gun."

It cuts back to Phelan saying to Eileen that the cottage was secluded and romantic, as Seb is shown looking very nervous indeed.

The policeman tells Gary and Adam, "We found something else," as Phelan sees a photo of a police van on his phone - and it looks like his fury is about to take over.

Tim Metcalfe can then be seen in the Rovers with some very concerned and anxious-looking residents, as he tells Eileen on the phone, "If you're with him, Eileen, you've got to stay calm, you've got to get out of there as fast as you can."

Then we see Eileen looking TERRIFIED on the phone as Phelan creeps up on her, saying, "Make or break, you said," with Eileen asking, "What have you done?"

OOH. It sends shivers down your spine!

Fans of the soap replied to the post sharing their enthusiasm for the trailer, with even Corrie actress Kym Marsh getting involved.

AHH. We literally can't wait!
