We may still be in lockdown, binge-watching shows like Normal People, listening to Downtown Radio, and reading some good books to keep ourselves occupied, but Netflix's latest announcement has certainly put a smile on our faces!
Today, Friday 26th June, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again lands on the streaming service, leaving many fans of the hit movie very happy! The uplifting movie, which features the likes of Lily James, Amanda Seyfried, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan, is available for UK and Ireland users now.
Fans of the 2018 movie were quick to express their excitement, one user wrote, 'Netflix party here we come', with another adding, 'This has honestly made my day'. Another then wrote, 'Omg yass, this will be the only thing keeping me going'. (sic)
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was the popular follow-up movie to 2008 movie Mamma Mia!, which follows the story of main character Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) preparing for her wedding to Sky ( Dominic Cooper) and inviting her three potential dads in the process.
The second movie, which features music legend Cher, flashes back to 1979 and follows the story of a young Donna (Lily James) and her journey to giving birth to Sophie. And of course, acting great Meryl Streep returns for a small part in the second movie, with THAT spectacular ending.

Meanwhile, as if this wasn't enough, creator Judy Craymer recently spoken out about the possibility of a third Mamma Mia! movie.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Judy - who was at the helm of both the film adaptations - said that it was always planned as a trilogy, saying, "I think one day there will be another film, because there’s meant to be a trilogy, you see. I know Universal would like me to do it."
Judy went on to admit that the story was already underway before the global pandemic hit, "I was meant to have been getting on with that, in my head, during these months. But then I got hit with Covid fog."
