It's all got VERY tense

Love Island host Caroline Flack has defended current Islander Anna Vakili after former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan called her "nasty".

Taking to Twitter, James tweeted, 'Anna is one nasty piece of work. At least the mean girls don't have so much power in the @LoveIsland Villa anymore. IT'S CALLED KARMA BABY!!!! It is what it is'.

Caroline was quick to fire back, writing, 'She's not nasty'. BUT, then James replied saying, "That's how she comes across babe". AWKWARD.

Taking no prisoners, Caroline replied saying, "It's an extreme statement .. for her to come out and see ... were better than that x". sic

He responded quickly, writing back, 'But I also remember the way she was also nasty to Danny..... only commenting on what I see. I’m not that keen, sorry xx'.

This is a Twitter feud we never thought we'd see, but the fire was put out as soon as it was started, as Caroline said, 'I like to protect my islanders .. Love you tho as always'. sic.

The Twitter spat comes after Anna stood up to Michael Griffiths in last night's episode (3rd July) and defended Amber Gill, after he chose to recouple with Joanna Chimonides, over Amber, leaving her single.

What's your claim to fame? It's probably my brother, Tyson, but I'm my own man and I've said it throughout my whole boxing career. I don't want to be labelled as his little brother.

Taking Michael to one side, Anna asked him about why he had chosen to 'dump' Amber, who he was coupled up with for a month, and get to know Joanna.

But the conversation soon escalated to an argument as it KICKED OFF with Michael calling Anna 'childish', whilst she hit back saying he should act like an 'adult'.

Tonight's episode is also set to look as FIERY as Amber and Joanna head out for a 'chat' to set the record straight!
