I’m A Celebrity fans have hit out at the show after campmate Richard Madeley faced an ‘impossible’ trial.

Castle Kitchen Nightmares saw him desperately search for hidden stars in a kitchen full of critters, fish guts, offal and rotten veg, but only come away with four stars.

Explaining the trial rules, Dec told Richard: "This is castle kitchen nightmares, you have 10 minutes to find 10 stars hidden within the trial. Each star you find is a meal for the camp tonight. They could be hidden anywhere, in the walls, in the pots, even down the rubbish shoot.

"When you find a star, pop it in your star bag. Only stars that are in the bag at the end of the trial will count."

The Good Morning Britain presenter was more than determined to win the stars but could only manage four out of the ten on offer.

He was getting visibly frustrated throughout the trial, saying: "That’s seven tons of fruit, I’ll never find a star in here. Oh, it’s freezing. Oh, this is really, really hard…there’s just no way of sorting the wheat from the chaff."

Viewers took to social media following the difficult trial and called it ‘unrealistic’ to complete.

One fan tweeted: ‘Come on #ImACeleb @imacelebritythat trial was unrealistic to complete in 10 mins. How unfair on @richardm56, he gave his best, but appeared genuinely disappointed for the team for not getting more! (sic)

Another said: ‘Richard’s trial was unbelievably unfair. How was he meant to do that? #ImACeleb’ (sic)

One more fumed: ‘This trial is genuinely impossible. I feel so bad for Richard. Hes doing all he can. No other celeb would do any better than he is doing. Ant & Dec actually annoyed me there surely they can see that was hard. Poor guy. He's really growing on me and is one of my favs #ImACeleb'. (sic)

However, some fans were more distracted byAnt and Dec’s hilarious commentary, especially the moment Richard slid down the rubbish chute: 'This trial and @antanddec has been just incredible! #ImACeleb absolutely howling!!!'. (sic)

On Thursday morning (25th November 2021) it was revealed that Richard had been taken to hospital after falling ill overnight in the castle with a 'sudden illness'.

An ITV spokesperson told the Mirror: "Richard was unwell in the early hours and was immediately seen by our on-site medical team. He's since been taken to hospital as a precaution, the health and safety of our campmates is our priority."

In more I'm A Celeb news, it's now been revealed that soap legends Adam Woodyatt and Simon Gregson will enter the camp in tonight's (Thursday 25th November) show.

The pair, who are famous for their soap roles Ian Beale and Steve McDonald in EastEnders and Coronation Street, won't have an easy ride into the Castle, instead they'll be competing in a trial whilst the rest of their camp mates watch on.

We can't wait!
