Game of Thrones fans were left rolling on the floor laughing after some fans spotted a pretty huge blunder in Monday's episode.

Although the show is near-perfection to most of its fanbase, it seems that not even the GOT cast and crew are beyond a slip-up - as proven by the stray Starbucks cup that was accidentally left in a scene during the final season's fourth episode.

The official GOT team then responded to the gaffe in a hilarious tweet, sharing a GIF of Daenerys Stormborn raising a glass with the caption, 'News from Winterfell. The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. #Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.'

When the episode aired again, the Starbucks cup had been digitally removed - so at least that's sorted! But it wasn't long before viewers picked up on yet another potential gaffe in a devastating scene towards the end of the episode. SPOILERS AHEAD!

Take a trip down memory lane to see how the Game of Thrones cast looked then vs. now...

During the final scene which supposedly took place in King's Landing, Daenerys and her vastly reduced army came face to face with Cersei Lannister, who currently sits on the throne in Westeros.

Earlier in the episode, Cersei had captured Dany's best pal and most trusted advisor, Missandei - and after a little discussion with her brother Tyrion that did not go well, Cersei had Missandei's head chopped off.

However, considering that King's Landing is supposedly surrounded by sea and grassy mountains, fans were left scratching their heads over the fact that this confrontation took place in what appeared to be a desert.

Taking to Reddit, many fans questioned what was going on, with one writing, 'Everyone's talking about the coffee cup but can we talk about why King's Landing is now in a desert without mountains?' and another agreed, 'I don't understand where this even is, isn't KL surrounded by water except for the entrance?'

A lot of fans agreed with the confusion, and many were left wondering whether the GOT team had simply forgotten to film in the right place. Surely not, right? But after the Starbucks cup, anything is possible...

Fortunately, other Reddit fans jumped to help, with one explaining, 'The sea receeds during winter, like a super long lasting low tide. This is one of the areas where the bay has receded leaving barren area leading up to a city wall.'

Ahh. It makes so much more sense now!
