Derry Girls star explores NI's hidden gems for new Channel 4 show

Siobhán McSweeney, known worldwide for her portrayal of the hilarious Sister Michael in Derry Girls, had barely set foot in Northern Ireland before filming the hit show.

After falling in love with the landscape she’s taking to her electric bike to explore more of the lakes, mountains, coastline and forests for this new four-part series for More4 on Thursday 12th August at 9pm.

Follow as Siobhán’s mischievous character explores wild Ulster, discovering rural landscapes, historical homes and the fascinating people who live and work there.

Each episode uncovers some of NI's hidden gems

Episode 1: Strangford Lough and Belfast

Episode 2: Mournes Mountains and Armagh

Episode 3: Fermanagh and The Sperrins

Episode 4: Causeway Coast and Derry City

"Viewers are in for a real treat as Siobhán immerses herself well and truly into Northern Ireland’s great outdoors," says Jannine Waddell, Managing Director, Waddell Media.

"She’s not afraid to try her hand at some weird and wacky activities as she travels across Ulster on her electric bike, giving us a unique insight into the people she meets on her journey as well as taking in the stunning scenery on offer."

When can we watch?

Exploring Northern Ireland with Siobhán McSweeney starts on More4 on Thursday 12th August at 9pm and runs for 4 weeks. Each episode will be available to view/download on All4 shortly after transmission.
